International Women's Day Celebration Dinner

The celebration of International Women’s Day is held annually on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. Prior to the amalgamation of the Tropic Coast and Innisfail Business Network’s in 2011 our International Women's Day Celebration Dinner was organized and hosted by the Innisfail Network. This year the newly amalgamated Cassowary Coast Business Women’s Network host this event in March every year.

The Women Who Make a Difference Awards

Our theme this year was “Women – Past, Present and Future” and we recognised the achievements and milestones of women in our communities as well as showcased the next generation of young women who will shape our future via the 'Women Who Make a Difference Awards.'

We received a fantastic response to our request for nominations with 26 across three categories.

The achievements of local women were recognised in three categories at the dinner to commemorate International Women’s Day.

Under 18 Women are our up and coming stars who have shown willingness to share their academic, cultural or sporting skills to inspire or help others.

Volunteers are women of any age who have organised a major community event, given generously of their time and shared their skills with others.

Women in Business have a clear business and marketing commitment to their community, a focus on customer service and commitment to staff development and training.
